collage series selected for the first issue of Toulouzinzine, a magazine by and for Toulouse-based artists, and later exhibited at the Zinzine exhibition at La Fabrique UT2J, Toulouse, from September to October 2025.
this collage series is a graphic experiment about the sensations of living abroad—something I experience in my personal life and that often appears in my photography. I decided to cut and paste photos from my personal gallery along with other visuals to portray this imaginary world in a way that feels truer to my sensations. I dive into the universe of brasilidade as it interacts with the landscapes I’ve encountered since moving to France.
I often feel like I’m strolling, wandering toward the unknown, navigating mysterious waters, just like the characters in these images. the bicycle is a very important element for me because it’s my mother’s passion. In Toulouse, I feel deeply connected to her: with all the beautiful bikes everywhere, they inspire me and bring back memories.
in short, these collages are a big blend of my foreigner identity and the places I’ve been discovering since arriving in Toulouse, France.
