photos taken during the volunteer work project I led as part of my Civic Service at the Concordia Midi-Pyrénées Association (Toulouse - France) in August 2023. the project involved restoring the Teulat chapel, which was built for the villagers (but never consecrated) with the intention of using it as the village’s event center.
the young people in the photos are volunteers from more than 10 different countries. having lived in five different countries myself, I believe that cultural exchanges enrich us immensely and help us grow as people. this effect is further amplified in the context of volunteer work. so, I wanted to capture our moments of cultural exchange: while working at the chapel, during our free time, and especially during shared meals.
