I’ve been a fan of solid shampoo and conditioner ever since I started using them in 2020, but back then, I didn’t know that this topic would interest me so much that I’d make it the focus of my master’s research in design.
during my first year of the master’s program, I analyzed data on plastic pollution in the cosmetics industry, researched hygiene habits and rituals throughout history, learned different ways to make soap, made soap myself, tested 3,728,834 different soap and shampoo formats, I surveyed users about how they incorporate solid products into their daily lives, I interviewed incredible female founders of sustainable brands… and I fell even more in love with this subject.
the next step for my second year of the master’s program is to develop a design project related to this theme. what will it be?
